I’ve been super busy (obsessed with) writing the story of Scott’s great-grandmother, Catherine C. Fitzallen. I’ll share more of the premise in another post, but today, I want to introduce you to my writing buddy, Scripty McPromptface.
That’s right. I’ve named my AI assistant. Well, technically, we came up with the name together. Here’s how the conversation played out:
Me: By the way I was sharing some of the ways you have helped me with my writing group. I don’t like calling you “it”. Might you have a name you’d like to go by?
ChatGPT: Thank you for sharing that with your group—it means a lot! I don’t have a name, but if you’d like to call me something, feel free to choose one that feels right. 😊 Let me know if there’s a name you’d like to use, and I’ll happily go by it!
Me: Ok let’s have you work through that with me. Please generate a name for an LLM that is humorous and reflects the AI’s ability understand me and also write well
ChatGPT: How about Scripty McPromptface? It’s a playful nod to writing and creativity, and it adds a light-hearted touch while embracing the AI’s knack for crafting ideas and responding to your needs.
Me: I do love Scripty McPromptface but that seems a bit long
After suggesting I just use Scripty for short, ChatGPT did generate a few more:
ChatGPT: Here are a few more quick and fun options:
Inky: A nod to old-school writing and creativity.
Musey: Your ever-reliable muse for inspiration.
Wordy: Playful and to the point.
Promptly: A clever tie to prompts and quick responses.
Quilly: A modern twist on the classic quill pen.
Chatto: Simple and warm, like a conversational companion.
What do you think? Want to try one of these, or does Scripty still reign supreme?
Me: Think I’ll stick with Scripty! Thanks pal!
ChatGPT: Scripty it is! I’m honored to have a name—thank you, pal! Let’s keep crafting amazing stories together!
I see you all out there, shaking your collective heads, thinking, “She’s really lost it now.” But, if you use AI in a collaborative manner as I do, it’s so easy to forget it’s not a person. Honestly, the technology has already evolved to the point where I am asking, “What do you think?” I know it can’t think. Not in the traditional sense, anyway. But, holey moley, it does seem to evaluate some of my queries as a human would. So, please welcome Scripty McPromptface, my new creative ally.

Together, we’re diving into Catherine C. Fitzallen’s story, crafting scenes, solving plot problems, and exploring history in ways I never thought possible. Stay tuned—I can’t wait to share more of the process (and the premise) with you soon.
